Summary

In order for us to get you to use the app - we need to do 2 different “layers” of approval before your device is able to fully download the app. Please read the breif details below to confirm you are all good to go!

You should only have 4 builds available for you to install, and they are all labeled “staging.” See below for installation instructions

Step 1: App Center

We need to add you to AppCenter. Contact @Ben St John on the #testing_gaen Slack channel with the email address you wish to use for your AppCenter account. You’ll get a sign up email to finish registration

Once you are registered on AppCenter go to https://install.appcenter.ms/apps on your device(s) that you will be testing on. If you are on Android you should be able to download the “AppCenter” app, if on iOS just go to the link directly on Safari/Chrome.

For iPhones: Your first time going on to AppCenter on your device, you will be asked to “install a profile” to register your device. All you need to do is hit the “Add new device" link (on AppCenter) which then prompts you to download something. Next, go to Settings and click “Profile Downloaded” then in the top right click “Install.” That should be good!

 

 

Step 2: Unique Identifier for Download

 

iOS

  • Provide UDID of your phone to @Ben St John in #testing_gaen and ask it to be added to the builds. You can get this here: https://get.udid.io/ (Note, you will be prompted to install a profile for this as well, see “Step 1” for instructions on how to do that)

Android

  • Provide the email for your Android/Google Account that your device is registered with in #testing_gaen to @Ben St John

 

For iOS: You will know if your UDID is correctly added to a build if you see an “install” button on AppCenter for a build (see image below)

 

 

 

Verification Codes

For testing, it’s likely that you will also want the ability to generate Verification Codes.

To do this, you need access to the server.

To be able to create an account on this server, you’ll need your email added to an approved list. Send a DM to @Arthur Gibson on Slack, and he will add your email to the list.
