End to End Exposure Notification Test Steps

[Requires: 2+ phones , w/sim cards, verification keycode]

This test will walk you through the end to end (e2e) main exposure notification (EN) flow, including Onon-boarding and diagnosis verification code submission.

...

  1. Complete Device Setup steps for at least two mobile devices [with sim cards & Bluetooth enabled]

  2. Have access to at least 1 valid verification code for a positive diagnosis (this should be provided by a test lead)

  3. Go through the on-boarding flow and exposure notifications and proximity tracing are enabled on each phone

  4. Return to your devices respective home screens and leave each app running in the background for at least an hour. This is necessary for your phone to start generating keys that will be required later on.

Triggering an Exposure Notification

  1. After your test phones have had sufficient time to passively generate a local exposure key, move them into proximity (2m/6ft) for at least 15 minutes with each other (if they weren’t already)

  2. On one phone, open the app and select “Report positive test result

  3. Advance to the next screen and enter the 8 digit verification code (Setup step 2)
Note: verification codes are only valid for 1 hour from the time of their generation

  4. Select the ‘Share’ button on the pop-up that asks you to share your device’s random IDs.

  5. Select the ‘I understand and consent’ button on the subsequent screen.

  6. Select the ‘Done’ button to return to the Home screen.

  7. Check the other non-positive phone for an exposure notification - this process may take up to 24 hours

Proximity Test (Simulated ENs)

[Requires: 2+ phones w/sim cards?]

This test is a truncated version of the e2e EN test above meant to test proximity tracing and the showing of simulated Exposure Notifications without a verification code.

Test Setup & Prerequisites

  • Same as e2e EN test above, except no verification code is required
